Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit for Select Canon EF Lenses
Key Features
  • 0.9, 1.2, 1.8, and 3.0 Optical Density
  • 3-, 4-, 6-, and 10-Stop Filter Kit
  • Multicoated Optical Glass
  • Water- and Oil-Resistant Nano Coating
This Rear Lens ND Filter Kit from Haida contains four filters (3-, 4-, 6-, and 10-stop) that are each compatible with the built-in rear filter slot of a Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L fisheye USM, 11-24mm f/4L USM, 14mm f/2.8L USM, EF 15mm f/2.8 fisheye, 16-35mm f/2.8L USM, 17-35mm f/2.8L USM, or 17-40mm f/4L USM lens. Each filter can be used individually to darken the entire image area, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time, you can create images with motion blur or by opening up your aperture to create a shallow depth of field. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit Overview

The kit's ND 0.9, ND 1.2, ND 1.8, and ND 3.0 filters provide a respective 3-, 4-, 6-, and 10-stop exposure reduction. These filters are constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflection coatings, which also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help keep it clean for a longer period of time. The Nano coating associated with these neutral density filters provides an additional layer that results in an improved beading effect if their surfaces come in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning. A plastic case is included for storage and transport.

Note:

NOTE: The thickness of the filter holder may prevent the zoom range of the Canon 11-24mm lens from rotating below the 12mm position.

Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit Reviews

A word of caution........

The screws are JIS ( Japanese Industrial Standard) not Philips! Most High-End Japanese electronics have JIS Screws, Nikon is no exception! The "JIS 000" Micro Driver fits firmly and is perfect for the job. Will a Phillips 000 work? Possibly, maybe, if you are lucky....except you run the risk is stripping the screw. Once its stripped its back to Nikon for a repair. You are playing with an expensive lens. As usual, the instructions as minimal at best. Line the filter holder up with the back end of the lens. You only need to remove the three screws that are on the adapter. The factory plate will pop out. Snap the Haida adapter in and insert the three screws that came with the adapter. They are small and are very easy to loose. Be sure to save the original Nikon rear plate and screws in a safe place. It's actually a very easy job that took only a few minutes, with the right JIS 000 micro screwdriver.

Works as advertised

We do not currently have anything similar that works with RF lenses. Additionally the current Canon RF 15-35mm Wide Angle lens is able to take front threaded filters.
