Durable and Comfortable

I ordered these earpads after most of the material on the original earpads that came with my MDR-7506 headphones had worn out and flaked away. Even after about 2 years of near-daily use, the headphones themselves were still in perfect condition, so it seemed unnecessary to replace them outright. With standard shipping, I still received these very quickly. The process of removing the old earpads and replacing them with these new ones is extremely simple, but does take some dexterity. Replacing the first earpad was a solid 5-10 minutes of fumbling, but I got the hang of it and had the second one on in about 30 seconds. The leather-like material is thinner than I expected, but not nearly as thin as the original earpad material. I expect these to last much longer. The soft fabric material feels great against the sides of my face as the headphones hug my head. I couldn't be happier with these earpad replacements.

Good, but be aware of how it changes the sound

Picked these up after my original 7506's pads flaked away. Ear fit is nice, materials feel better quality, depth of pads is deeper than the standard pads. This has two effects: bass is much louder, and isolation is significantly better. However, this might throw off your monitoring a bit if you're used to the character of the original pads, and if you're like me, the isolation actually is irritating to the ears after a few minutes when listening to music or movies. I'm keeping these pads around for on-set monitoring purposes because of their excellent isolation, but for general listening, I've switched back to my old pads.
