It is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface that is compatible with SATA II 3 Gb/s and fits into your system's 2.5" / 7mm drive bay, providing load and access times for files and programs that are faster than those of a traditional spinning hard drive. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 500 MB/s and sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s. In addition to its enhanced data transfer rates, this drive also offers a life expectancy of 2 million hours MTBF, TRIM support (OS dependent), and S.M.A.R.T support.

With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. I recently upgraded my Home Lab server Dell PowerEdge R620 with the PNY 2TB CS900 SATA III 2.5 Internal SSD and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The installation was a breeze and the drive was recognized immediately by the server. One of the standout features of the PNY 2TB CS900 is its fast read and write speeds. The drive has significantly improved the overall performance of my server, with applications and data transfers completing in a fraction of the time it used to take. In addition to its speed, the 2TB capacity of the drive has provided me with ample storage space for my server's needs. I have had 2 PNY branded SSDs and both failed within a year. PNY did replace them under warranty (hence 3 stars not 1) but with postage, etc. I would spent a few more bucks to get Samsung, Kingston or a more reputable brand. I would consider a PNY for data-only and WOULD NOT have PNY as the boot / OS drive.

After trying the PNY SSD for one year, I can tell it is a good product. I buy two more 500 GB SSD for $26 each to upgrade my Levono laptop and my sister's Dell laptop. The PNY SSD shows the greatly improved speed of both laptops. I hope PNY shall show the product's reliability in many years to come.

This drive will revive most older PCs giving them a much needed boost to an old mechanical drive. Buying at B&H means you will get hthe best value and price.

Doesn't Work Atomos Ninja V

According to PNY's Facebook page they show this drive working with the Atomos Ninja V. Well I can confirm it does NOT WORK WITH THE NINJA V!!! No it is not on Atomos' approved drive list...But PNY insists it does! When I addressed this on their Facebook page they STILL HAVEN'T responded to my post! This shows their lack of customer support!!! AVOID PNY!!!

This PNY 1TB CS900 SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD is a New item, not used or refurbished. As to whether it is made with recycled materials, we do not have this information.

Solid state drives can be used in desktops. You will likely have to purchase an adapter plate that mounts the 2.5" SSD in a 3.5" drive slot in the desktop case. I buy my adapter plates on ebay.

Will this fit in a late 2013 13 Mac book pro?

No this will not work. 2013 Macbook Pro (no SuperDrive/DVD) uses NVME. B&H sells upgrades AURA from OWC (Apple is using a proprietary connector).
