Da-Lite 40138 overview

  • 1Description

The Dalite 60 x 80" Picture King Tripod Front Projection Screen is an industry standard in the world of tripod screens. This rugged and timeless screen is meant to be stored in an A/V closet, in your basement, hall closet or attic. It's the kind of screen that gets dragged out once or twice a year at family gatherings - or that gets daily or weekly usage at your place of business for seminars. In either case, it's a reliable screen made from aluminum and steel which offers a wide stance for maximum stability.

The screen is height adjustable as is the high-low case mechanism. In addition, there is a fabric lock which holds the screen surface firmly inside the casing during transport. This prevents shifting of the screen which may cause premature wear and tear.

High quality professional tripod screen able to withstand daily usage
Matte White, Glass Beaded, Video Spectra 1.5 and Silver Matte fabrics will be seamless in all sizes
Silver Matte is available in sizes up to 84 x 84"

    Da-Lite 40138 reviews

40138 Picture King Portable Tripod Front Projection Screen (60 x 80") is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large room screen It will fit in my car thru my backseat into the trunk. This is the biggest screen I can transport. It's pretty heavy and one large person can set it up alone but two is ideal. The top of the screen can be as high as 10 feet allowing good clearance for the front row heads. Wide viewing angle coating. Great images. Like the keystone eliminator to knock some room glare down. There is a pinch point when retracting/extending the extension tube at the black locking knob. You learn not to do that again. The screen case is heavy enough that the detents may slip out if the fabric tension lock lever is not used. It should be used with a little training.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good size and very durable I ordered this product because of a friend's recommendation. It's a great size screen for photo montages for special events. The day I got it, I tried to set it up myself and found it was heavy but manageable, but it would have been easier to set up if I had another person with me. I like how everything locks into place when you set up and put it away. It folds up nicely and I can easily store it away til the next event. I also purchased the Da-Lite 40943 84 Tripod Screen Case which works well since there is a slot made for the handle of the tripod to stick out of so you can cary the screen when transporting it to and from.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality, Functionality, & Price We use the screen video presentations in my wife's dance recitals. It is placed center stage-about 8 feet back in a typical college auditorium & we used our Epson EX71 Projector. House lights are turned off & the stage is completely dark. The picture is bright & clear with good color rendition (probably a cooperative result of the screen & projector). Handling is good, especially the carry handle which seams to be at the balance point. Height is easily adjusted & secured. It folds efficiently for storage & isn't so large as to be a burden with transport. The only tricky part of using it is with the tripod legs that are a bit finicky with extension & retraction. But, I can't think of a better design & am glad to have one neat package for our purposes. Overall, we are pleased with the screen & figure it'll last many years showcasing sparkling little darlings for their families & friends. I know we certainly get a lot of rave reviews for the videos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Huge! We currently have meetings in our work cafe and more often than not we have to have a projector setup to project a PowerPoint presentation or website. The screen we had was way to small for the amount of people viewing it and made it impossible for people in the back to see the screen over the projection tray because of the size of the old screen and the height of the screen. We were actually putting it on the paper boxes to get it higher. After doing my research and consulting with the people at Da-Lite I ordered the 40138 Picture King Portable Tripod Front Projection Screen (60 x 80) by Da-Lite. This thing is huge enough for the people to see way in the back and the height of the screen can be adjusted from the bottom or the top of the screen at about the height of 10 to 12 feet so seeing over a projector trolley is not an issue. The one thing though it is heavy and there is a trick to getting it setup but once you learn that your set. The handle on the unit helps tons.

Everyone in our church was happy of the new screen and they are pleased with this product. We like it because is nice and steady, is the size we wanted it also. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good screen Very large screen. Since it's so big, it's not as portale as I had hoped.
