I was hesitant about any of the stands I looked up for a 17 laptop, but this Kensington will definitely hold my HP Envy17.....BUT !!! The ONLY problem is that this stand covers up 70% of the cooling vent holes on the bottom of the Envy. The only opening that is available is the small handhold slot, which isn't enough for proper cooling. Otherwise, the Kensington SmartFit Easy Riser would be great if your cooling vent was at the large central hole.
