I think this thing is great! I used to have a cable for taking group photos and still shots, but didn't really like the sort of thumbs up, awkward hidden hand, or visible cable. 20 more bucks for my pictures looking like someone took the photo without all the little mistakes that comes with speedily telling someone how to use an SX-70? Worth it.

The Mint Camera Self(ie) Timer comes pre-installed with a CR1220 battery, which should last for a couple of years. The CR1220 battery is replaceable. The Energizer CR1220 Lithium Coin Battery, B&H # ENCR1220, would be a replaceable battery for your usage needs.
