Palmer PDIR Reversed DI Box
Key Features
  • Converts Balanced to Unbalanced
  • XLR Input, 1/4" Output
  • Keeps Signal Free of Extraneous Noise
  • Transformer-Isolated I/O
The PDIR from Palmer is a tool designed to convert a balanced XLR signal into an unbalanced 1/4" signal. In this sense, it accomplishes the opposite goal of a DI box. The common DI box, among other things, converts signal from an unbalanced 1/4" connection to a balanced XLR signal. You'd use it to run something like a guitar into a mixing console.

Palmer PDIR01 Overview

The PDIR from Palmer is a tool designed to convert a balanced XLR signal into an unbalanced 1/4" signal. In this sense, it accomplishes the opposite goal of a DI box. The common DI box, among other things, converts signal from an unbalanced 1/4" connection to a balanced XLR signal. You'd use it to run something like a guitar into a mixing console.

Here the effect is reversed. Use the PDIR to run signal from a dynamic microphone into a guitar amplifier, doing so without introducing unwanted noise. Furthermore, the PDIR isolates both connected devices from each other using a transformer.
