Epson EF-100 Reviews
Not meet the expectation.

The resolution is very low. It's like the TV in 90s and 80s. I wasn't expecting 4k but at least it should be comparable to LED quality. Also there's only one HDMI adaptor. With the size of this projector, you have enough room to fit more than one HDMI adaptor. Bluetooth connection to speaker is not compatible to all speakers, it has to be xxx (I forgot your technical term) specified in order to connect audio to speaker via bluetooth. You should have made the audio connection via bluetooth available to all types of speakers. With the price you sold, those requirements should be inclusive
Highly recommend

Noisy fan, only one HDMI port

Looks good, compact, neat and tidy. But does have issues.
The laser diode is a great innovation, the result is a nice bright image. Even when projected on the wall, the image is better than you might expect from WXGA resolution, which is effectively 720p.
While the native resolution is not full hd, it's still a clear image in most cases when the source is HD.
The main issue with this projector is the fan noise. It's a small unit, so the internal fan is small, and spins loudly when the brightness is turned up. Even with brightness all the way down, the fan noise is too much. If you don't care about fan noise, and need a good crisp laser-projected image, it does the job.
Another downside is the single HDMI port. Sometimes you might want to temporarily add a new source, or just have more than one HDMI source available.
I've owned this projector for awhile now, and I like it.. but will upgrade to something with 1080p, a quieter fan, and multiple HDMI inputs. It was a good first projector, but I will likely get a short throw next.
One more issue: When the unit is in standby, a nasty electrical noise is emitted from the headphone jack. So if you have external speakers connected via this jack, and switch the projector into standby, you'll get very harsh noise coming from your speakers. I need to remember to turn speakers off before putting the projector into standby.

I had a $100 DB Power lamp projector for approximately 4 years. It gradually became difficult to see well or clearly unless the room was entirely pitch black. That setup increasingly caused eye strain, as the lamp lost brightness. This EPSON laser projector is a game-changer; I couldn't be happier. I can watch the EPSON in broad daylight if I wanted and still see everything crisply and clearly. Glad there's an affordable laser option.

This is a review for the Epson EF-100 Mini-Laser Streaming projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
This projector is great and easy to setup. I was up and running in 10 minutes or so. The only issues I had was figuring out why the projector came with two remotes, and the automatic update when in the middle of viewing a video to check video quality. I couldn't find anything in the manual that clearly stated the purpose of the two remotes.
What puts this projector over the top are the integrated chrome cast, apps like Netflix, and the projector has access to the google play store meaning you can download new apps that come out down the line.
I used this projector to cast youtube videos from my iphone and android to the projector to the back wall of my living room. In addition, I was able to hookup my Playstation via HDMI and that's was fast and easy. Another neat feature is the Bluetooth connectivity. I linked up the projector's audio to my Bluetooth speaker and it was neat, the only drawback is that the audio was sometimes off by 1/2 a second due to the wireless connection.
I always wanted a projector but hesitated due to the poor picture quality that plagues projectors. However, I can say the picture quality from the EF-100 is amazing. It will not replace your TV in a brightly lit room, but the picture doesn't completely wash out either, especially if there is any outdoor light coming inside your house.
So if you're in the market for a projector I think this would be one of the best ones to choose from.
easy to set up.

Quirky, Niche Projector

This box is super easy to set up, projects a nice image on any flat wall, does not require outside computer, just a power outlet and wifi connection.
It's a quirky thing, and there are a lot of tradeoffs. It's almost perfect for my situation, but I can explain what it does best and where it falls short.
Picture quality is good. At a throw distance of about 15 feet you can make out the pixels if you really squint. I would say the picture quality is fair, and as you sit there watching the screen it's not at all distracting.
The audio from the projector is actually quite good, and it can connect to bluetooth speakers, but is not necessary which is a huge plus.
The brightness is also fair. 2k lumens is great for a dim or dark room. I have good curtains but they certainly need to be drawn for it to work.
I have done some casual gaming on it (FPS), and while I cannot find any specs for it's refresh rate, I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth things ran on it.
I didn't think this would bother me as much as it does, but the single HDMI hookup is a huge pain. You have to remove the back covering (not difficult), unplug the Android TV port, then plug in your HDMI cable. This probably wouldn't bother me as much if I didn't feel like I had to do this so often. Turns out the Android TV port doesn't work super well with HULU. I've tried the other major streaming services with no issue but HULU seems to be very laggy. Again, that is the Android TV, not the projector. An extra HDMI port would probably make me far less frustrated by all of this.
There is a very specific customer who will be happy with this projector. I do not have a TV, I can bring this to a friend's backyard for a BBQ and movie night, I have a dark room. For me, its just about perfect (minus the HDMI options) and if that sounds right for you, you'll love it too.
