FeelWorld LUT7 Overview

Featuring a 323 PPI (pixels-per-inch) IPS LCD panel, the LUT7 7" 4K HDMI Monitor from Feelworld displays SD, HD, UHD, and DCI 4K video. The LCD panel boasts a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and a 2200 cd/m² measured brightness for easy viewing outdoors as well as indoors. The touchscreen allows you to quickly access your settings, and the IPS LCD provides good off-axis viewing, allowing you to see the image without being directly in front of the monitor and not experiencing distorted colors or contrast. The monitor's chassis is both thin and light at about an inch thick and weighing only 1 lb.

On one side of the monitor, you'll find HDMI input and output connectors, and on the other side a 3.5mm headphone output, a 12 VDC 2.1mm barrel power input (with optional power adapter), and an 8.4 VDC 2.1mm barrel power output to power an optional accessory or your camera using a separately available cable or dummy battery. Along the bottom edge is the 1/4"-20 mounting thread, and the control buttons reside along the top edge of the monitor. The back of the monitor features a dual L-series/NP-F battery plate to provide ample power.

The LUT7 supports custom 3D LUTs to accurately view the camera color on screen, and it supports professional Rec.709 color calibration technology. A variety of image-evaluating tools are built into the monitor including a histogram, false color, and zebras for checking exposure, peaking and magnification for checking focus, and markers for ensuring correct framing.

FEELWORLD uses the professional Rec.709 HD color standard and is calibrated at the factory. It can achieve monitor calibration efficiently and get accurate color reproductions easily, showing the image when you shoot without distorting the color.
The menu controls are intuitive and easy to use with their touchscreen design. Two different feature buttons are programmable to the various features that you use the most.
The compact design includes 4K HDMI input/output so you can connect them to 4K cameras and DSLRs. The HDMI connection is compatible up to 4K24p.
Load custom 3D LUTs using the integrated SD card slot.
Histogram is a quantitative tool to check the picture brightness.
The audio level meters provide numerical indicators and headroom levels.
The peaking filter displays a colored highlight on the screen where sharp edges appear.
Built-in selection of no-squeeze, 1.3x, or 2x allows you to use anamorphic lenses or adapters and see the image unsqueezed, even if your camera does not de-squeeze.

There are a lot of great features on this monitor, and you can't beat the price. Yet, the contrast is really bad. It's hard to look into the shadows even though the camera is exposed properly. I was constantly adjusting the backlight and brightness to see what I needed too. Definitely just for framing.

Really happy with this monitor so far. Resolution works for what I need, and the tools that come with it are not included in much more expensive monitors. Large Screen, Waveform, Scopes, Peaking, safety margins, False color, its bright, Pinch to zoom, Custom LUT profiles, customizable menus and dedicated buttons for functions you use often. Menus are easy to navigate, and it includes a pretty solid mounting arm, so overall I am very happy with it. Build quality is what you should expect with a budget monitor. Plastic housing, lighter feel, as I said it's a budget monitor. Negatives: It's glossy, so reflections will be an issue in certain environments. Touch screen will leave fingerprints(It's a touch screen, this is more common sense.) I will update if there are any issues after more use, but I recommend this over many very expensive alternatives if you are on a budget.

The touch screen is weird. I don't like this monitor. It's very cheap feeling and heavy with the 2 batteries.

I have a few different Small HDs including a Cine 7 and needed a B or C cam monitor and didn't want to pay their ridiculous prices. This one fit the bill and has been great so far. Decent color space and bright enough for full daylight usage. Is the build cheap, for sure but it's $400. Small HD might been to rethink their 2500$ price tags

This monitor is surprisingly decent. Colors seemed fairly close to a calibrated OLED display, the touch implementation is decent (even has pinch-to-zoom!), and the overall functionality is perfectly usable. The functionality is somewhat limited (e.g. you can't remap with swiping up and down does), but that's sort of what I expected. The meters are simple but very usable, and it gets more than plenty bright. I had absolutely no issues with connecting modern Sony mirrorless cameras. Overall just surprisingly good for the price, and a massive, massive improvement over the last (non-touch) 7 FeelWorld monitor I bought! My only complaint is honestly just the NP-F battery slots. I get that they're cheap and common, but I'd rather have the option to use V-mount or Gold-mount batteries which are higher capacity and usually charge way faster too.

Is it possible to view specs from camera screen on monitor display?

The ability to see specs from your camera screen (shutter speed ISO record time etc) is controlled by the camera not the monitor. Most cameras have a menu option that enables or disables the ability to see specs on the video output. Once you have set the camera up properly you will be able to see the specs from your camera screen on any monitor.

Does this monitor allow touch screen autofocus on ...

Does this monitor allow touch screen autofocus on a Canon R5 in photography mode? The Shinobi doesn't but takes over the screen from the canon which renders the camera unable to have touch control focus at all.

The touchscreen of the monitor only allows to control monitor's functions, like brightness or volume. It does not allow to control the camera or anything else external.

The FeelWorld LUT7 7" 3D LUT 4K HDMI Monitor does not come preloaded. You load the LUTs via a SD card.

I was trying to set this up and familiarize myself with the monitor off-camera. Does the 9 grid only appear on camera? The center marker works unattached.

the gird/framing markers are NOT a camera dependent function and hence should function on the monitor devoid of a camera signal.
