Great quality

A Great Accessory

From the moment I saw this case, I knew it was going to be a God-send for all my portable audio equipment. Everything fits nicely and the foam does a really good job at securing everything in place, even heavier objects like my Zoom H6 or my microphones. And I don't fear stacking some items or placing them beside each other, everything seems to be pretty safe once the case is closed. Overall I'm really satisfied, it serves all the needs I have at the moment, though I wish the build quality was a bit better, but I can't really complain, it's not like it's poorly built anyway. But maybe it would be better if the shell was hard instead of soft, but I understand it has to be somewhat flexible to house multiple accessories. But to summarize, you get what you pay for, you won't regret it if you really need it!

Would the Zoom H8 fit inside with addition of the microphone attachment?

Yes, the Zoom SCU-40 Universal Soft-Shell Carrying Case can accommodate the size of the Zoom H8 8-Input / 12-Track Portable Handy Recorder and its X/Y mic capsule. It may be best to detach the capsule and store alongside the recorder in this scenario, however.

This will seem like a silly question, but are the foam pads meant to be cut to size or can my H6 be safely nestled between the foam pads?
Asked by: Gary
Thanks, Mark, but then the recorder, etc. are just sitting on top of the foam, rather than being "cradled" by it. Also, the top layer of foam is pushing down on whatever is in the case. I have worked with the Pelican type of foam that can often be "picked" but this is the first time I have received a case where there is no indentation for the equipment; rather it is just squished between two layers of "waffle" foam. It seems to me that indentations would be preferable. I'll keep the case but am surprised that the foam is not meant to be cut in order to provide indentations for the equipment. I'm not sure how good a concept top and below pressure on contents is. Perhaps I could get another opinion regarding my question. Still, thanks Mark.
