The Rear Insert Plate from SHAPE is designed for use with the Sony PXW-FX9 camera to support the rear of the camera when mounted on a baseplate. The plate mounts onto the camera body via two included screws and provides support when the camera is used with a separately available SHAPE baseplate.

This thing helps with the camera getting plate getting loose on my small rig shoulder pad. Didn't realize it but is a game changer and wish I had it from the start.
The bottom of the camera has a little shelf that makes it kind of touchy on a baseplate. This fills the gap and let's you use a standard baseplate to keep everything bolted down.
