What length of Magic Carpet can be safely mounted on a single tripod?
Entirely dependent on the total weight of the camera/lens setup. The slider support rods can help and also you can attach a monopod to each end to make setup quicker and stable rather than adjusting the height/centering of two tripods.

If you just want linear motion (up and down the track) then you will need Syrp Genie II Linear

You would need an adapter in order to do this. You cannot do this on it's own. We have this 3/8-16 hi-hat riser that can cover into a 75mm half bowl. Please take a look: https://bhpho.to/2MML854

Can the PRO Carriages be used on the original Genie slider tracks, or are these different diameter tubes?
The SYRP PRO Magic Carpet carriage only works with PRO parts. The original Magic Carpet slider is not compatible with the PRO line.
