HP 1040 G6 14" Overview

Precision crafted with a unibody CNC aluminum design, the 14" EliteBook x360 1040 G6 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Laptop from HP has been built with the security and collaboration tools that let you work the way you want. Also integral to its design is a 360° hinge that allows it to flip and fold into four modes—notebook, stand, tent, and tablet—each of which adds a unique dimension to your computing experience.

The EliteBook x360 1040 G6 is powered by a 1.9 GHz Intel Core i7-8665U Quad-Core processor, which features a boost speed of up to 4.8 GHz and allows you to run multiple applications simultaneously. The 16GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 memory helps to ensure smooth multitasking and allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs.

Its 14" Anti-Glare IPS display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and driven by integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620, has a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, a brightness of 1000 cd/m2, viewing angles of 85/85/85/85°, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and coverage for 72% of the NTSC color gamut. The display is also a touchscreen, allowing users to take advantage of the supported multi-touch gestures that are built within Windows 10 Pro. To help prevent side-angle viewing from onlookers, this display features Sure View privacy technology.

For storage of your files, there is a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. If you'd like to connect external storage or devices such as optical drives, media card readers, printers, or scanners, the EliteBook x360 1040 G6 has two Thunderbolt 3 ports that supports Power Delivery 3.0, plus two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one of which doubles as a charging port. There is also an HDMI 1.4 port for an external display. Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and pair compatible wireless peripherals with Bluetooth 5.0 technology to free up USB ports for more important devices. Other integrated features include a user-facing 1080p IR webcam that can be used for facial recognition with Windows Hello, two pairs of stereo speakers with four discrete amplifiers, three integrated mics, and a fingerprint reader.

HP's 13.3" EliteBook x360 1040 G6 includes a 65W USB Type-C power adapter and a 3.3' power cord. It can also be powered using the integrated Long Life 4-cell / 52.6Wh lithium-ion polymer battery that lasts for up to 24 hours before recharging is required, and can be recharged up to 50% in 30 minutes when the system is powered off or in standby mode. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

Swipe the HP Privacy Camera shutter to block your camera's view and stop visual hacking with HP Sure View Gen that protects your screen from prying eyes. HP Sure View reduces visual light when the screen is viewed from the side, making it appear dark and unreadable.

HP Active Pen G2

Windows 10
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10

Additional Windows 10 Pro Features
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
