C2G 26914 Overview

Charge devices and transfer data with the 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C & A Hub with Power Delivery from C2G. With two USB Type-A and two USB Type-C ports, this USB hub supports up to four peripheral devices and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3. Delivering up to 100W of power, the hub supports simultaneous data transfer at up 5 to Gb/s.

The hub's small form-factor design integrates a male USB Type-C cable. This USB hub is compatible with Apple iPad Pro, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Microsoft Surface Book 2, and Surface Go. Measuring just 3.54" wide, the C2G USB Type-C Hub is intended to offer a portable hub option.

USB 3.2 Gen 1 features a maximum throughput of 5 Gb/s and is synonymous with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0.
Thunderbolt 3 Compatible
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Simultaneous Data Transfer and Charging
This USB hub can deliver up to 100W of charging power to the connected device while also transferring data up to 5Gb/s.

Overpriced but it seems to be working and that is perhaps worth the price of admission.

Fine for expansion, not for speed

Significant reduction in read and write speeds (20 to 50% depending upon the test) trialled with the same drive, from the same port with crystal disk mark. Decent enough hub for extra ports, but if you want decent transfer speeds do not do it via this. Don't expect b&h to get this to you anywhere near on time btw, that is not their thing.

just to be clear, I can connect 2 ssd usb-c peripherals at a time. I do not have to use one of the usb-c ports as power?

The C2G 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C & A Hub with Power Delivery draws power from the host computer and does not require that one of the USB-C ports be used for power pass through.
