K&F Concept Variable ND Fader 1-8.6 Stops Reviews

Acceptable on wider shots (less than 80mm)

I recently purchased these for a job using Canon CN-E 18-80 & 70-200. The job had 3 shots: Wide - Sigma 18-35, Medium CN-E 18-80, and Tight, CN-E 70-200. It worked fine for our wide and medium shot but our tight shot that was close to 200mm was very soft focus and wasn't able to be sharpened. Previously I had a NiSi ND for these lenses and will be going back to them for at least my 70-200mm. Otherwise, these worked fine for the 80mm shot and 18mm shot.

Great

Will my lens cap fit on this filter? The lens is a Lumix 12-35 micro 4/3.

The front thread for this K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (58mm) would actually be 62mm, so your current cap will not fit.

I think I have seen some VND's have a total size larger than its threading part, which ends up blocking the ability to mount a lens hood. Does the size of this filter prevent the mounting of a lens hood?
Asked by: Jonathan
You will be able to mount the lens hood with the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter on the lens.

Yes. The K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (58mm) had 62mm front threads which can be used with a standard 62mm snap on lens cap such as this: https://bhpho.to/3DjuEgF

Can you please confirm this will fit on the Tamron 17-28 f/2.8 Di III RXD lens. Will the 72mm front thread accept a 2nd filter?
Asked by: Gordon
The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E has 67mm front focus threads. As such, the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (67mm) would be compatible to fit the front filter threads on the Tamron 17-28mm lens. A 72mm filter would not directly fit on the front of the Tamron 17-28mm lens without the use of a step-up ring such as the Sensei 67-72mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESUR6772.

What size slip-on cap fits the 77mm size? Spec says front is 82mm; only push on is Kaiser 82 & people say it it's not a 82mm.
Asked by: Ben
@Dan W: does the Sensei snap on require a thread to attach to? Because this variable ND has no externally facing thread, as far as I know. That is why other Q&As point to needing a slip-on cap.

Would this fit a 12mm samyang lens?
Asked by: Taylor
The K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (67mm) BH #KFVFND240067 fits lenses with a front thread of 67mm. I am not seeing we currently sell a 12mm Samyang with that thread size. You will want to double check your lens to see what the front thread size is. You did not list the full name for us to check.
