Sony UX570 Overview

The black Sony ICD-UX570 is a compact digital voice recorder offering built-in and external storage, a fast-charging internal battery, and cableless USB connectivity. Compared to the ICD-UX560, this model features an enlarged OLED display, a wider recording LED, and auto-recording modes for voice and music sources.

With a highly sensitive S-Microphone system and MP3/LPCM recording capabilities, the ICD-UX570 lets you capture speeches, meetings, lectures, and music, clearly and conveniently. The Auto Voice Recording and Auto Music Recording settings ensure that your audio will be crisp and free of distortion.

Since the ICD-UX570 features built-in microphones and an integrated speaker, you can use it without any additional equipment. It also sports 3.5mm jacks to accommodate an external microphone and your favorite headphones.

Does Voice Operated Recording work if using the 1/8" input jack, or just the microphone? Really need this if it can do it through the input.

Can I record from a device with a Line Out, or will that signal be too strong for the microphone input?

I noticed in the external mic settings there are 2 sensitivity levels, mic input and audio input. According to the Sony chat rep, the audio in option is good for line level input. Didn't try it out.

The manual states that it is compatible with AAC 48 kHz. Is that for recording and playback, or only for playback of imported files?

This recorder can only record up to 44.1kHz, and can playback files up to AAC 48kHz.

Yes, basically. I have several folders, each with unique names that I assigned by creating and naming them while I had the recorder connected to my computer. (Folders can be created in-device with different names, but using a computer gives me greater flexibility in naming.)
