The Vello BG-S3-2 Battery Grip is designed for use with the Sony Alpha a7 II, a7S II, and a7R II mirrorless cameras. The grip holds one or two NP-FW50 batteries which effectively doubles shooting time when both batteries are installed. The design of the grip provides a comfortable way to hold and shoot with the camera in the vertical position.
The BG-S3-2 features a vertical-position shutter-release button, an alternate AF/MF/AEL button, three custom buttons, rear and main control dials, and an on/off switch. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. The grip screws into the camera's tripod mount, and it incorporates a tripod receiver mount on its bottom for attaching to a camera support, quick release plate, or bracket. A metal mount allows you to attach a camera strap or hand grip strap to the BG-S3 for convenient carrying.

Perfect fit for my Sony. I was asked to assist in my first wedding and the fast shipping was a necessity without breaking the bank to do so. Instructions were very detailed and easy to set up!

Great grip for the price. Took quite a few rogue waves from the ocean before it bit the dust, but that's just electronics.

2 questions
1st Does the camera draw off both batteries at the same time ?
2nd Is it still fine to charge both batteries through the camera
It does not draw off both batteries at the same time. The camera draws power from the battery with less power. Once that is depleted the camera switches to draw power from the second battery. To charge the battery you will need to use an external battery charger purchased separately or you will need to remove the battery from the grip, place the battery in the camera and connect the camera to the wall socket via USB cable and USB adapter.
