ViewSonic X100-4K Overview

Enjoy large images and smart TV functionality with the ViewSonic X100-4K XPR 4K UHD DLP Projector. Its 2900 lumens of brightness can overcome ambient light in most home setups, and XPR technology provides 4K on-screen resolution with compatible content. With its 1.2 to 1.44:1 throw ratio, the projector can be positioned at various distances from your projection surface to produce producing images from 40 to 300".

Integrated smart TV functionality enables access to streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube. The projector can be controlled by the included IR remote control or via your Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa ecosystem. The X100-4K has four HDMI inputs for connecting digital high-definition sources such as Blu-ray players and HD cable/satellite boxes. Two of its HDMI inputs are 3D-capable for viewing 3D Blu-ray discs with other compatible equipment, which is available separately.

Note:
Content acquired via certain apps may require subscription to a service. Not all services are available in all areas.
XPR Technology Projects UHD Resolution
XPR technology combines image processing with the ability of the DMD's mirrors to shift at the microsecond level to allow each mirror to project multiple pixels per frame, creating a 4K UHD image from an otherwise non-UHD chip.
ISF Certified Color Calibration Tools
ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) certified Day and Night modes are designed to deliver optimized color in both bright and dark environments respectively. If needed, ISF-certified technicians can provide on-site tuning of these settings for customized image calibration.
Smart Interface
An integrated smart TV interface lets you stream and binge your favorite movies and TV shows from Netflix, YouTube, and more. You can also stream multimedia content from your mobile devices connected on the same network.
Lens Shift
Horizontal and vertical lens shift allow for flexible projector placement in challenging installations.
Dual 3D Blu-ray Ready HDMI Inputs
With two 3D-ready HDMI inputs, you can connect two 3D-compatible Blu-ray players. 3D viewing is made possible with optional compatible shutter glasses.
LED Light Source
The X100-4K uses solid-state LED technology that's free of mercury, lamps, and filters. The LED light source provides up to 30,000 hours of usage while consuming less power than most typical LCD TVs, lowering your total cost of ownership.

Why create a media-centric projector, and then only give it OPTICAL audio output? What if my surround system is bigger than a 5.1? How would I output the sound?
Asked by: ed
It would recommended to connect the sources directly to an AVR our use a different method of streaming rather than through the projector itself then.
