Light weight, smooth and fully adjustable, the perfect Gimbal Head!

Until now, I haven't found a gimbal head that I enjoyed using, and for several reasons. Most gimbal heads have a set arm placement so that the camera / lens combo either sits too low or too high making it feel unbalanced, where the Leofoto PG-1 allows the lens to sit squarely upon the tilting axis so it makes it intuitive and easy to raise and lower the camera angle. I also like that it is very light and the pivit points are as smooth as melted butter! I am using the PG-1 on my Manfrotto carbon fiber monopod that I've had since 2020 (when I suffered a class 3 shoulder separation in a motorcycle accident), but until now have not enjoyed using a monopod for camera support (I have used them since the 1980's for an assistant to hold an off-camera light) finding it too limiting. The PG-1 has changed that, so much so, that I'm actually thinking about adding the Sigma 300-600 f/4 to my kit! As a footnote, I really appreciate B&H for carrying the Leofoto products, as in the past, I would have to order them from overseas (I hate to wait!). If you are thinking about adding or upgrading a gimbal head, I very much recommend the Leofoto PG-1!

Best in class for the money. As good as the Wemberly in terms of bearing quality, yet this is lighter, stiffer, and a touch more flexible in setup. Only minor niggle is that I wish the arca baseplate had a lever closure option.

It is not a fluid type head. It is smooth but not as smooth as a fluid video head.

Yes, this may be used with other brands' tripods. :) No, you won't need an adapter. Most tripods use a 3/8"-16 mounting screw.
