Overloud Choptones Brit 1959RR Giant Pack Rig Expansion Library for TH-U (Download)

Available for download, the Overloud Choptones Brit 1959 RR Giant Pack Rig Library is a selection of guitar amp and cabinet emulations for use with the Overloud TH-U platform. The amplifier, cabinets, stompboxes, and microphones were emulated by Choptones, a company known for its emulations ported to multiple platforms.

This particular expansion library recreates the sound of a Marshall 1959RR Randy Rhoads Signature Amplifier Head. This head is based on the classic 1959 stack, but features a mod that cascades the two halves of the first ECC83 preamp tube. This drives the preamp a whole lot harder, and the resulting distortion was no small part of Randy's signature tone. Choptones has captured the tone faithfully in the normal channel of this emulation.

The engineers modeled this amplifier in multiple configurations with a wide array of cabinets, microphones, and stompboxes. There are 148 rigs offered in total, captured with Shure, Royer, Heil, Beyerdynamic, and other microphones. Cabinets from Marshal to Mesa Boogie to Friedman have been utilized, and all manner of distortion pedals have also been modeled.

This expansion library requires either a full installation of Overloud TH-U or one of its editions to operate.
