I have 5 OlD... like 19 years old Elinchroms, and 2 went down in the last month. I attempted to replace the fuses, modeled lights, and flash tubes. Contemplated sending them off to repair. After this exhausting decision I just decided maybe I need to just start replacing these... and WOW!! Power house, quiet polished light. Highly recommend.

Yes the ELC 500 TTL works with the same Skyport trigger as the BXRi 500 monolights, just without any TTL functions.

Any reason the get the ELC 125 vs the ELC 500? I will use them for in-studio stuff.

Depends on the size of your sets, ELC 125 is compact and it's powerful enough for shooting single-person portraits, small subject tabletop stills or macro works in home studios. If you shoot in a larger area, with a smaller aperture like f/11 or f/16, ELC 500 is much more flexible.

What is the flash duration in normal mode at full power and half power? And what is the flash duration in freeze mode at full power and half power?

With HSS the shutter speed can be as high as 1/8000. With out HSS the flash duration at full power is t0.1 1/250th. There is no spec for the half power flash duration.
