Not sure if I want to keep this case

First the good, the leather quality looks excellent and the case top that covers the LCD screen is well padded. The bad, I remember leather cases for ranger finder cameras that were of this design, they had two features which this is missing 1. they had a combination knurled knob and socket that you would screw in to the existing tripod socket on the bottom of the camera body securing the case to the body . This knob had its own tripod socket hole that you could then use to mount the camera on tripod with the case on. This has case has neither. 2. The old rangefinder cases had a bottom snap that would secure the top half the shell/case to the bottom half. This way you could flip the top half of the case off and down leaving it secured to the bottom half while you were shooting and then flip it back up and over when you were done. With this case you have take the whole top of the case completely off and put it in a large coat pocket or a separate bag, otherwise it just sits in your hand. The third problem is if you want to charge the battery there is no way to open the charging port door cover without removing the case entirely. Lastly I actually prefer the free camera strap that came with camera better than the leather strap that came with this case. The leather strap is shorter and stiffer.

Can the X100V be mounted onto a tripod without removing the case?

Unfortunately you would need to remove the case in order to place the camera on a tripod, the case does not have a connection for the tripod.

Can I use this case with the adapter ring ar-x100 ...

Can I use this case with the adapter ring ar-x100 and a 49 mm filter?
Asked by: Chuan-kang
The short answer is no. The case does bend and can be stretched to force it close with the ring adapter and a filter (no cap), but the filter/lens combo would touch directly on the case which would transfer any impact to the case directly to the body of the camera effectively adding zero protection. I had the fuji X100F and case before and this has never been a problem. Honestly this is a downgrade all around and really disappointing as the case itself would be awesome. I wonder what Fuji saved by removing a few millimiters in dept like the older models.

Will this case work with the X100VI’s new location of the tripod hole? (Different location than the X100V)
Asked by: Lowell
The FUJIFILM LC-X100V Leather Case does fit the x100vi but does not leave access to the tripod mount. It's important to note that the leather case did not allow access to the tripod mount when being used with the X100V either.
