CAMVATE C2447 Overview

The Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate with 15mm Dual-Rod Clamp Base from CAMVATE supports Manfrotto quick release plates and adds quick release capability for DSLR cameras or cages. It also allows the camera to slide back and forth on the mounting plate.

The integrated rod clamp allows for a dual 15mm rod system to be set up for attaching a follow focus, lens support, matte box, and other accessories. The base features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes on the side and bottom of the baseplate and rod clamp for directly attaching to a tripod, dolly, or other device to provide flexibility while shooting and for mounting additional accessories.

2 things, #1, it's thick enough to mount a cheese rod/bar on the front or back of the plate, this adds great flexibility in configuring your setup. #2, the fact that is only a hex nut on the QR is great, I wish it was all hex nuts. I personally hate wing nuts on my rigs and I replace them all with hex bolts that I buy off of amazon. That's right, I throw these terrible wing nuts in the garbage. If you think about what you're doing with these items, you'll realize that hand tightening everything is not a great idea..

This mount made it much easier to keep a 3/4 build on my rig and frame. It simplified and greatly reduced my setup time. The hold is strong and secure.

how do i get this on to a tripod?

You can either use a tripod that is compatible with the Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate or attach a tripod plate to the bottom of the CAMVATE Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate with 15mm Dual-Rod Clamp Base.

Would this be compatible with the smallrig 2203B?

Yes, this CAMVATE Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate will work with a Smallrig 2203B cage for a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and most other camera cages, as well.

Yes, the CAMVATE Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate with 15mm Dual-Rod Clamp Base can mount to any LWS 15mm rod support system, including those found on the Neewer Shoulder Rig.

Can I put a ronin S plate on this?

A Ronin S plate will fit on a Manfrotto 501 style quick release (which is featured in the CAMVATE Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate), however width of the Ronin S plate is slightly less than a Manfrotto style and may not full lock into place. Please also note that even though the Ronin S plate can fit on a Manfrotto style quick release, a Manfrotto style plate will NOT fit on a Ronin S.
