Does this matte box work with 82mm VND? Will be able to screw my filter onto the adapter rings?
Yes, this CAME-TV Matte Box comes with adapter rings. In order to fit your 82mm VND filter, you will be using the 82mm to 77mm adapter ring, then attach a 77mm to 95mm ring, and attach the mattebox.

How to lock in the filter? My 4x4 glass sits in tray, but mechanism is unable to actually hold anything down. What am I missing here?
One standard 4 x 5.65" or 4 x 4" filter can be added to the front of the matte box.
