Sennheiser HD25LIGHT Overview

Sennheiser's HD 25 Light are a pair of closed-back, on-ear, dynamic headphones. These headphones are intended for use during recording or monitoring audio and are suitable for outdoor use as well, making them useful for DJs. They are designed to give you a sound similar to Sennheiser's popular HD 25 model, though doing so at a lighter weight (120g) and at a lower price point.

The headphones can provide a maximum SPL of 120 dB, doing so with a frequency response of 16 Hz to 22 kHz. The included dual-sided cable is detachable and replaceable. It terminates in a 3.5mm connection and comes with a 1/4" adapter.

I love these. They don’t feel like a step down from the regular HD 25s. The build quality is great and I can’t tell the difference in sound between these and my regular HD 25s. The main difference is not being able to swivel the ear cups like on the regular model. A great pair of DJ headphones for a good price, especially if you can get them on sale.

Great rugged headphones for field use. I use them for news/documentary work with my Canon C300ii. However, this is the second pair I’ve bought in the past couple years as the plug on my first pair developed a short in it.

Is there an adapter so I can plug these into my MixPre3ii and Zoom F3 for field recordings?!

The Sennheiser HD 25 Light Headphones have a hardwired 3.5mm TRS connector, so an adapter is not needed for use with the Sound Devices MixPre-3 II and Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorders, as both have a 3.5mm TRS headphone output. A 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter is included for use with other devices that have a 1/4" TRS headphone output.
