Works well with Synco Mic D2. This is a long shotgun. This mount isolates the mic with no mechanical sag.

Can the cold shoe be removed/unscrewed so as to allow a 5/8" connection?
Asked by: Aaron
The Rycote InVision On-Camera Shockmount's cold shoe mounting plate is not designed to be removed, but a 3/8 to 5/8 adapter such as BH #IMCA102 could be used for connection to a mic stand or other 5/8 mounting options.

Would this shock mount work well with the Audio-Technica AT8022 or AT4025 microphones? both of these mics are front heavy
Asked by: Sean
No. You will want to use the Rycote 041118 InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII) to hold the Audio-Technica AT8022 or BP4025 X/Y Stereo Field Recording Microphones. The diameter of the barrel on these microphones is larger than most standard shotgun mics. The Rycote 041138 InVision On-Camera Shockmount supports microphones with a diameter of 19 to 25mm while the Rycote 041118 InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension supports mics with a diameter of 19 to 34mm.

Does this work for the original rode video mic? Not the pro version, but the original?
Asked by: Luke
The Rycote shock mount you want for the original VideoMic model is the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles (B&H # RYUSGM) which fits mics that have a 19 to 35mm diameter. The InVision model is for mics with a 19 to 25mm diameter and may not open wide enough for the original VideoMic model. I would also suggest contacting Rode directly. They did have an upgraded replacement mount available. You can reach Rode by phone at 562-364-7400. Their US office is based in California.
