Cavision Matte Box Donut Lens Adapter Ring (85mm)

The Cavision Matte Box Donut Adapter Ring has on outer diameter of 85 mm and is designed to work with select Cavision matte boxes. The donut adapter prevents light from leaking around the lens and reflecting off filters in the matte box. The cloth features an adjustable sizing cord that allows you to fit lenses with an outer diameter of approximately 50 to 85 mm without having to swap out donuts.

The aluminum ring of the donut adapter fits into the back of the matte box, and the cloth fits around the lens. The adjustable sizing cord allows you to snug the cloth around the lens. How much vertical adjustment is the matte box ...

How much vertical adjustment is the matte box capable of? I wanted to use a Hoodman HLVKIT Live View Kit with my D810, which will slightly raise the camera height.
Asked by: Michael
According to Cavision this matte box set should have no problem covering the extra height created by the HLVKIT on the D810. It has approximately 2.4cm of height adjustment. The minimum distance from rods center to matte box (ie lens) center is 10.2mm and the maximum is 12.6mm. Also of note: the plate portion at the back of the rods system will elevate the camera approximately 4.2cm above the rods center.

question

In the product description, with regards to compatibility, it states: ...and most DSLR cameras with small to medium size lenses . I am assuming this rig would be compatible with a Nikon D810 and a Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art lens?
Asked by: Michael
This should work fine with the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F as well as the Nikon D810 as long as the camera is not on a grip.
