ASUS ZenBook 14 14" Overview

Built for travelers, the ASUS 14" ZenBook 14 UX431FA Laptop features a thin and compact form factor with an all-day battery. While portability may be its main advantage, its specs aren't lacking either. Equipped with a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-10210U quad-core processor, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, and integrated Intel UHD graphics, this system can easily tackle your everyday workloads. Meanwhile its 14" display has a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut for clear and vivid details. Thin bezels and an 86% screen-to-body ratio also help to provide a more immersive experience.

Other integrated features include Wi-Fi 5 for internet connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 for pairing wireless peripherals, and an HDMI port for connecting external displays. Users will also have access to an SD media card reader as well as USB Type-A and Type-C ports for connecting peripherals and devices. Like most systems, the ZenBook 14 is equipped with a webcam, microphone, speakers, and an audio jack. When needed, its keyboard has built-in backlighting to assist users in dimly lit environments. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home.

NanoEdge Display
The NanoEdge bezels measure just 6.45mm thin, providing users with an 86% screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience. The display also has 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut.
ErgoLift Hinge
The ErgoLift hinge design raises the chassis when the screen is opened for a more optimal typing position. It can also help to increase heat dissipation from underneath the laptop.
Audio
The ASUS Golden Ear team and Harmon Kardon audio experts collaborated to deliver a fine-tuned audio system. Two bass speakers and two high-frequency speakers deliver smooth, clear, and powerful full-range sound, while smart amplifier technology prevents distortion and speaker damage at high volumes. Furthermore, audio settings can be fine-tuned in the ASUS SonicMaster app.
Keyboard & Touchpad
The ZenBook 14 has a backlit keyboard for typing in darker settings. The keys also have a key travel distance of 1.4mm for comfortable typing. When needed, an illuminated numberpad can be switched on the touchpad for quick data entry.
Battery
The ZenBook 14 has a 47Wh li-polymer battery that's rated to last up to 10.8 hours of use, which is plenty for on-the-go users who want to travel light.
Fingerprint Sensor
Quickly and easily log into your system with just a swipe, thanks to the built-in fingerprint reader and Windows Hello.
MIL-STD-810G
This system has undergone MIL-STD-810G military standard testing for drops, altitude, and low temperature to ensure it can survive in a bit more than typical conditions.
Windows 10 Home (64-Bit)
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
