I have an 18TB @ 7200RPM that I bought here @ B&H last year. Flawless : this is my 2nd Glyph which the 1st is the 8TB @ 7200RPM from 6-8 yrs ago ~ No Complaints what-so-ever! Professional DJ since 1983 I know my Hard_Drives ~ I have 16 externals running on my MacOS I only use the Best from LaCie - Glyph - G.Tech - W.D. & believe it or not 2 older SeaGate's over 15 years old. I'm in the process of buying another, cause my 18 is almost full.

It was a little hard to set up on a Windows computer but once it is formatted it works like a charm. I like the fact that it is an American company. I use Beyond Compare to back up my files. I do not like auto backups. This way I only backup new files and can choose which ones.

As others have stated, this has been a total disappointment. It cannot be trusted to complete a task without disconnecting.

Do Not Purchase

I loved the idea of these! I edit film, and these are great backups. However, if you are looking to edit off of these, do not purchase. It disconnects consistently, and I can't get through a project for 10 minutes without the data being lost.

I bought a few of these as backup drives. I think i bought four of them total. They have all failed - I have never encountered this problem in my life. they failed a month after purchase, when the box was already gone. The remaining one i had ejected constantly and now as of this week says it's not working. lol. Tons of wasted money. Truly the worst BH purchase ive ever made

Bad hard drives.....

I have used the 12TB versions now for a year or so with no issues. Ignoring the bad reviews of the larger drives I went ahead & purchased a couple of 14TG drives - both were bad and behaved exactly as the other reviewers describe. Mounts OK and then repeatedly shuts down after a few mins - while in the middle of saving video files. Looks as if Glyph has manufactured a really bad batch of hard drives - so buyer beware until they get this sorted out. Returned to BH for a refund (thanks).
