Optoma Technology UHD50X Overview

Enjoy movies and video games at resolutions up to 4K UHD with the Optoma UHD50X HDR XPR 4K UHD DLP Projector. It uses XPR technology to produce 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) images on the screen with compatible content, and upscales non-4K images to near-4K to provide enhanced detail. Its 500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio helps enhance the clarity of dark areas of images. The UHD50X has two HDMI inputs for connecting your cable/satellite box, Blu-ray player, or gaming system. A 5-watt speaker is built-in for audio playback, as is an 1/8" audio output to connect to your external speaker system. An optical and an 1/8" input are also onboard. The projector includes an IR remote control for added convenience.

XPR Technology Projects 4K UHD Resolution
XPR technology combines image processing with the ability of the DMD's mirrors to shift at the microsecond level to allow each mirror to project multiple pixels per frame, creating a 4K UHD image from an otherwise non-UHD chip.
HDR10 & HLG Input Compatible with Rec.709, DCI-P3 & BT.2020 Compliance
Compatibility with the HDR10 and HLG HDR formats helps the UHD50X render vivid content. HDR tone mapping technology combined with dynamic contrast helps optimize the image with brighter whites, deeper black levels, and realistic colors. The UHD50X also meets the Rec.709 color standard to help produce accurate color. It accepts HDR10 signals with four selectable picture modes: Normal, Bright, Detail, and Film. DCI-P3 color gamut compliance helps provide a wide color gamut. HDR signals are mapped using Rec.2020 tone mapping, which also provides coverage for Rec.709 and DCI-P3.
Designed for Gaming
Computer gamers can take advantage of the 240 Hz refresh rate for smooth, virtually blur-free visuals, while console users can take advantage of either 1080p 120 Hz or 4K UHD 60 Hz gameplay. Enhanced Gaming Mode reduces input lag down to 16 ms at 1080p 240 Hz or 25 ms for 4K UHD, so you can choose between a competitive advantage at 1080p or augmented detail at 4K UHD.
Flexible Adjustment
Vertical keystone correction and 1.3x zoom help provide flexible installation options.
Digital Light Processing (DLP) Technology
DLP technology is designed to provide high contrast, fast response time, good pixel structure, and virtually no color degradation.
Dynamic Black Technology
This feature is designed to provide more depth to your image by smoothly adjusting the lamp output to augment the contrast ratio. This helps bright scenes appear crisp and clear while keeping dark scenes detailed with deep blacks and light and shade detail.
UltraDetail
This technology is engineered to ensure that all the information contained in an image is accurately reproduced on the screen to provide a clear, sharp picture. Algorithms detect each frame to help enhance image sharpness before the frame is projected.
ISF Modes
ISF modes allow you to save your calibrated day and night mode settings for your preferred viewing experience.
8-Segment Color Wheel
The RGBWRGBW color wheel is designed to increase the color ratio to produce more vivid images.
3D Compatibility
Display 3D content from almost any compatible source, including 3D Blu-ray players, broadcast, and game consoles. 144 Hz rapid-refresh rate is supported for smooth, flicker-free images. Compatible 3D glasses are required and sold separately.
Additional Features
  • HDR SIM simulates the HDR effect with non-HDR content
  • 4K UHD upscaling from WXGA, 720p, 1080p, WUXGA, and 1440p to 3840 x 2160, 60 Hz
