Exactly what was needed to balance my lens.

A good strong plate with two 1/4-20 screws to hold it firmly in place. The QD port works well and since is designed so you can use it in any orientation I put the QD port to the front of the lens so it is almost perfectly balanced with a Z9. For my big hands I prefer the OEM foot and this plate over a much skinnier replacement foot. Also I used some nylon fishing line instead of Loctite on the screws and that seems to be holding well.

All of my gear is Really Right Stuff and this is my first Kirk item. I only bought it because RRS does not have a plate this size with QD. This plate will get the job done but I gave it 4 stars because I think it is 1 star below RRS.

According to the manufacturer, the Kirk KLP-450 Quick Release Lens Plate, BH# KIKLP450V2 would be the correct plate for the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens and it would feature a QD socket on the bottom.
