Available for download, the PSPAudioWare PSP Twin-L is a vintage-style limiter plug-in for mixing in a pro-audio context. This software provides the sound of two classic dynamics-processing circuits. With the flip of a virtual switch, you can go between the relatively modern sound of a VCA limiter (think SSL at 10:1 ratios) to a vintage optical limiter such as the classic LA-2A hardware unit.
These limiters were not modeled on specific hardware pieces but were crafted to give you the archetypical sound of each kind of limiter. You'll find controls for attack, release, input, output, ceiling, and more. Sidechaining is possible from external audio sources, or you can run an internal filter on the sidechain to keep audio from pumping.
This plug-in is part of PSPAudioWare's Zero Latency Processing plug-ins, which means it doesn't add latency to the signal. Thus, you can use the plug-in in live monitoring situations.
This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. It will operate in AU, VST, AAX, and RTAS formats. An iLok account and the iLok License Manager application are required for operating this software, though the iLok dongle itself is not required.
