The round light source feels more natural. The diffuser softens the light nicely for my closeups. The magnet is strong and this won't fall off the flash.

The Roque color correction gels for round flash #RORRFGELCC can be used with the combination of the diffuser plate (BH #GOAKR13) & Godox V1. We recommended buying the Rosco Color Correction Filter Kit ROCCFK2024 and cutting these to size.

Is there any reason for having one of these if using the dome on the V1 flash?
No, if one using the Dome you would not use the Godox Diffuser Plate for Round Head Flash Heads. Usually it is one or the other. If you do not the light to be as diffused as the dome does one would use the Diffuser Plate.
