Rolls DB25B overview

  • 1Description

The DB25b from Rolls is a transformer balanced, passive direct box. It features a ground lift switch for hum elimination, and a rotary attenuator for padding the input signal from -20 or -infinity dB. Padding the input signal provides a way to connect the unit to a line level signal or even a speaker level signal and connecting it to a balanced line level input on a mixer. The two 1/4" inputs are paralleled pass-throughs to also send the input signal to a tuner, pre amp, etc.

Single channel passive direct box
Attenuator knob for connection to line level or speaker level signals
Mounting tabs make it easy to attach to any surface
Controls only on the front and back for "brick wall" multiples
Black color for matching any decor

    Rolls DB25B reviews

DB25b - Passive Direct Box is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I just works! I bought the DB25 so that folks in my church could plug a DVD player or a computer into the sanctuary sound system. The key here is that it had to be very simple and intutive to use. THe DB25b fit the bill perfeclty. Without any instructions, our pastor was able to successfully plug this unit into a microphone jack, and then plug a DVD player into the the DB25b. It worked perfectly on the first try. And, the attenuation control let him adjust the volume directly from the db25b. He said that he had been waiting years for something like this. Simplicity is beautiful in this case. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality for a low price I have bought two of these boxes after doing a lot of research and reading recommendations from pro audio installers. I use them at my church for taking the audio from our computer for input into our mixer. The Attenuator nob is very high quality, is not loose so it does not get bumped off setting. It is great for getting the right input level into your mixer. The box is compact so it does not take a lot of room to store. Solid reliable jacks. Very clear sound from it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOA - DEAD ON ARRIVAL Can't say anything about the product because looks like is dead.Unfortunately I've tested it just now, after couple of months, too late to return it.Even that the DB25B came in the original package there was signs that has been hit on the left top corner next to IN side port 1.I've opened the case and surprisingly the board next to the transformer was cracked in 3 places. I've measured the transformer and the out side doesn't work. I guess one of the inside wires of the transformer is broken.Too bad. And I've had such a good impression about B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The DB25 is a great item for those folks with severe ground loop problems. With the adjustments you can clean up your signal with accuracy and clarity. The product is very to connect. You can't hook it up wrong. I've worked at a lot of different venues, this product insures no extraneous noises more than what I am producing. If you have a ground loop, you need this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I believe is good I have a Behringer umc240hd, using this instead of the PAD gives a better input/gain level, not as good as not having anything, but yes, better than the PAD engaged, so somewhere in between. It makes a little bit of noise if touched or if it gets close to the speaker, computer or the lamp. I don't know how it is compared to other ones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic, works great! We use these DI's for PC Audio interfacing, and found it much more cost effective to purchase these units, and Patch Cables, rather than a $ specialized PC still get a stereo output to send to a mixer, but for a fraction of the price of a conventional PCDI. Pretty Small too, will fit in a mic bag if need be. Love em so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well - Excellent Quality! This small direct box works very well. It is a basic unit at a reasonable cost. It has two mono inputs that are hardwired together. It you want to combine stereo channels correctly to a single mic level signal, consider something like the Rapco Horizon LTIGLBLOX or LTIBLOX.
