Available for download, the Overloud Choptones Bogie JPC2 Giant Pack is a selection of guitar amp and cabinet emulations for use with the Overloud TH-U platform. The amplifier, cabinets, stompboxes, and microphones were emulated by Choptones, a company known for its emulations ported to multiple platforms.
This particular expansion library recreates the sound of a Mesa Boogie JP2C, John Petrucci's signature-series amplifier. The amplifier was designed with the prog-rock virtuoso in mind, utilizing an IIC+ circuit to give the player three distinct channels with different voicings, a double graphic EQ, and a 60/100W power amplifier.
The engineers modeled this amplifier in multiple configurations with a wide array of cabinets, microphones, and stompboxes. There are 204 rigs offered in total, captured with Shure, Royer, Heil, Beyerdynamic, and other microphones. Cabinets from Marshall, to Mesa Boogie, to Soldano have been utilized, and all manner of distortion pedals have been modeled.
This expansion library requires either a full installation of Overloud TH-U or one of its editions to operate.
