100mm filter doesn't fit; offers very little protection

I ordered these hoping to replace the thick metal case that the Lee Big Stopper came in. Sure they're thinner, but that's because only one side of the plastic case has foam padding. The other side is just flimsy plastic. The foam that is supposed to surround the filter is too wide along the edges leaving a 90mm square compartment for a 100mm square filter. Needless to say, the filter won't fit, and the case doesn't close completely so that the flimsy catches in the plastic fit together. Also, the little tabs you push apart to open the case were obviously made for someone who is left-handed, so they only work correctly for 10% of the population. All-in-all, not very well thought out and certainly not worth 9¢, much less $9.

How thick are they? I want to stack them ...
How thick are they? I want to stack them horizontally in a much larger case and apply Brother labels to each one. I anticipate needing 300+ for ALL my camera filters.
Each individual case's exterior dimensions are 11.8m (4.6") X 11.8m (4.6") x 1cm (0.4").
