From Manufacturer

Capture smooth, dynamic sweeping pans and camera rises with the professional 10' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm from Proaim. The heavy-duty aluminum and steel Wave-2 features a toolless setup design and is made up of a jib arm with a weight rod to add separately available counterweights. A bubble level helps you ensure the balance and level of the arm.

The Wave-2 arm extends to 10' maximum length and supports loads up to 55 lb. The tilt handle allows you to tilt the camera mount from the base and lock it into position. When mounted, the arm can pan 360° and it locks in place using the pan lock. A 100mm bowl on the camera mount allows you to mount standard 100mm half ball heads, and a 75mm adapter accommodates 75mm half bowl heads.

Proaim Wave-2 Reviews

Good mid-range jib

This a good mid-range jib. Tilt is very smooth (has a lock off also), pan is a bit stiff but consistent across the range once loaded with at least 20kg. Rear is very easily adjusted for balance.

We just used it on our latest music video with a Canon C300 mark Ii rigged on it, and it handled perfectly. It's super flexible with the range, so if you are in a small room, it still works. The shots are so smooth because of it.

This looks like a great item. I have a few questions. What tripods would you recommend. What other items do i need. How does one attach the camera to this. Does this unit have any control for the camera orientation (or should you always use it w/ a gimbal? Sorry for so many questions.

The Proaim 10' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm (B&H# PRPWV2PL) requires a plethora of accessories for typical use. Most often, an electronic control system such as a gimbal or motorized pan/tilt head would be used with a 75mm or 100mm bowl adapter to attach it to the arm. The camera would be mounted on the motorized head or gimbal. The type of control you'd use would depend on the electronic method you've selected for panning and tilting. A good medium duty tripod to use with many setups would be the Proaim CST-100 Heavy-Duty 100mm Two-Stage Tripod Stand (B&H# PRCST10001): https://bhpho.to/3eD6dlA We'd recommend calling, visiting us in the store, or even video chating with us to discuss the ins and outs of the use of this type of equipment: https://bhpho.to/3QqjJpO

What's the ratio for counterweight? Say an 11lb camera and a Proaim Gold Pan/Tilt Head sitting at 8.6lb
Asked by: Willow
The counterweight required to balance the Proaim 10' Wave-2 Video Jib/Crane Arm is approximately twice the weight of the camera setup with the arm fully extended. If the jib arms are collapsed, it may require less counterweight than double the camera rig.
