This B&H Kit allows you to mount up to a 50 lb projector to 2 x 2' or 2 x 4' drop ceilings. The kit features the Gabor UPMP-1000 Universal Projector Ceiling Mount and a Suspended Ceiling Mounting Plate that installs above the ceiling tile. The projector mount offers a universal 4" long 1.5" NPT column and a dual-gear mechanism that lets you adjust the projector's tilt and roll alignment.

Can cables be threaded through the mounting pipe and then through the projector
mount?

Would this work with the Sony VPL-XW5000ES? B&H recommends it but I don't see how this attaches to the center mounting hole.
The center hole on the Gabor UPMP-1000B AccuGear Universal Projector Mount (Black), B&H # GAUPMP1000, is meant to fit an extension column. A projector, such as the Sony VPL-XW5000ES 2000-Lumen 4K UHD Home Theater Laser SXRD Projector, would attach to the 4 "arms" on the projector mount.
