Would a 58-77 step up ring work with a normal filter like a regular filter or a Nikon polarizer without vignetting?

This lens does not extend as it's an internal focus prime lens.

Does the gf 30mm lens require slim 58mm filters or will normal thickness filters work without vignetting?
The normal B+W MRC UV filter works fine on my copy with no vignetting.
