Minox X-Lite 8x42 Overview

Outfitted with a versatile magnification and objective lens combination that is preferred by birders, hunters, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts the world over, the Minox 8x42 X-Lite Binoculars are designed to be your go-to optic for all of your outdoor activities.

The binoculars' 8x power brings your subject in close for observation while presenting a wide exit pupil and long eye relief, making them ideal for bird watching, hiking, and sightseeing. The 42mm objectives keep the views bright and sharp even in low and challenging light like at dawn and dusk or under heavy cloud cover or forest canopies. Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics and phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity.

Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to offset the weight of the front lenses without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip—even if you need to glass with one hand. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy, while the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance—so the X-Lite binoculars will be more comfortable than you if the weather takes a turn to cold and wet.

Optical Performance
  • Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while preserving a wide exit pupil and long eye relief
  • Full-size 42mm objective lenses provide the light-gathering capability required to keep views bright in low light and when viewing subjects at long range
  • Roof prism light path allows for smaller optical tubes versus Porro prism design for more comfortable handling without compromising performance
  • BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Phase-correcting prism coatings reduce or eliminate internal interference to correct ghosting and halos for better resolution and clarity
  • Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics improve light transmission to produce a neutral color rendition and boost contrast
  • Apparent angle of view approaches wide angle and reduces the need for the user to move their head side to side in order see the entire scene in front of them
  • Generous 373.5' field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Open-bridge, dual-hinge configuration offers stability and rigidity
  • Bridge design provides more gripping surface for steadier handling
  • Large knurled center focus wheel
