The ES-185E/NTP6 from ESE receives accurate time and date information from GPS satellites. It features a 12-channel GPS receiver that's able to track up to 12 satellites simultaneously. A highly accurate 1PPS (+/-10nS) signal and several types of timecode are generated: SMPTE-LTC/EBU, IRIG-B, ESE-TC89, ESE-TC90, RS232C/ASCII, and USB. These outputs allow the ES-185E to easily interface with computer, automation, and clock systems. A built-in dual-battery backup allows you to back up the GPS receiver and user settings (coin-cell) and four hours of operational backup (gel-cell). The DB-9 ASCII and BNC ESE outputs are functional when running on a battery. Also, an RJ45 NTP port may be specified (optional), allowing the clock to function as an NTP server and providing clock setup via a LAN.
Nine digits displayed on a 0.56" yellow LED screen confirm day of the year, hour, minute, and second information based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) as the data is received over the 12-channel GPS receiver. A USB port allows connecting to a computer and configuring settings for the system from an included Windows software, which is provided as a free download from the ESE website. Configuration can also be performed over RS-232, Telnet, or the embedded web page.
