Impressive Bellows, works great with my Nikon Z8

Small, light, well built, fits and work incredibly well with my Nikon Z8. As with any bellows it takes some time to get used to it (the learning curve), and get the results you look after. The system keeps all the camera functions active, contrary to older bellows. Quite expensive but you get what you pay: excellent quality. An additional rail is a must, in order to move the bellow and camera step by step closer toward the object being photographed. Long time ago I had it a very old bellows which I loved, but this one has taken over, the technology has improved a lot. I certainly recommend it if you really love close-ups of insects, tiny plants, etc. Pequeño, liviano, bien construido, se adapta y funciona increíblemente bien con mi Nikon Z8. Como ocurre con cualquier fuelle, lleva algún tiempo acostumbrarse (la curva de aprendizaje) y obtener los resultados que busca. El sistema mantiene activas todas las funciones de la cámara, a diferencia de los fuelles más antiguos. Bastante caro pero obtienes lo que pagas: excelente calidad. Es imprescindible un carril adicional para acercar el fuelle y la cámara paso a paso al objeto fotografiado. Hace mucho tiempo tuve un fuelle muy antiguo que me encantaba, pero este se ha hecho cargo, la tecnología ha mejorado mucho. Sin duda lo recomiendo si realmente te encantan los primeros planos de insectos, plantas diminutas, etc.

I can't speak about this product on other mounts (although I doubt it would make much difference). I wanted bellows with electronic contacts for a couple of reasons. I wanted to record data about the lens I was using. I also wanted to be able to control the aperture since Z lenses have no way of manually doing that. One of the main reasons I wanted this was to use focus shift at greater magnifications. I was expecting that work flawlessly. It doesn't. I tried this with a few lenses. I don't know what the issue is, it is possible that it is with the way Nikon implemented the feature, regardless of that, using focus shift with this attached messes up the functionality and the focus position restarts while taking photos. That means you will end up with a series that is not complete and not in the right sequence. Another thing I was very interested on was the other very cool advertised feature. That is being able to reverse the lens (while being able to control the aperture and still communicating with the camera). I was unable to focus with ANY Z lens when reversing them. I'm not talking about the focus shift function but manually focusing. I assume that it is due to the length of this adapter and the size of Z lenses. You won't be able to mount any lens, I tried using the Z 24mm 1.8 (you will need ring adapters as this thing only fits lenses that take 58mm filters) the lens was too big to mount it reversed. This item provides no value when doing macro work on the Z system. Regular extension tubes with electronic contacts are 15 times cheaper and serve the same purpose.
