The Lume Cube Panel Mini is about the size of a credit card and less than a half-inch slim. It's designed for pretty much all on-the-go applications with compact cameras. It also has an aluminum housing. It features a 3200 to 5600K adjustable color temperature, 96+ CRI rating, 1 to 100% brightness, and an LCD showing all these settings plus battery runtime, and more. A frosted lens layer is built-in for diffusion, and an additional diffuser is included along with a shoe mount adapter and a USB charging cable for the internal battery. The battery runs approximately 1.2 hours at full brightness and 2.2 hours at half brightness. A 1/4"-20 mounting thread is provided on the bottom and one on the side for horizontal and vertical mounting.

Say goodbye to dark faces and lack of depth in low Light places. This LED screen is simply surprising by its sites and efficiency. Easy to carry around, you will always be readily available. Batteries life is also very impression. A must have .

The product was able to last for the whole wedding I shot as long as I intermittedly shut it off and kept the power around halfway. It was plenty brhht for the size and helped create some nicely colored video scenes. The diffuser it comes with does exactly what it needs to to soften the shadows. Very user friendly and the camera mount worked on the go while I was also anle to screw it to my tripod for stationery lighting during dinner and localized activities. Very good for the price and my only complaint could be that it does not last longer at full power which I believe is improved upon with the Panel Go, which is also fantastic for the price.

Lume Cube as an art piece backlight

My wife is a glass artist and I needed a light to help showcase one of her pieces. I looked all over the web until I found the Lume Cube Panel Mini. It is small enough to fit behind the piece. Being able to adjust the brightness was key to being able to use this properly. I like being able to adjust the color temperature as well. I put the white diffuser on it. Plus as an added bonus I can use the light in my photography.

It was great to use in conjunction with my R10 as I did photo and video work. I particularly enjoyed how you can change the color, and have even used it to replace flash in certain pictures. The only problem I had was that I felt it was too small, but it still works very well even as a secondary fill light.

I can't find a beam angle in the specs, but assuming a 90º beam angle (pulled this out of thin air), then 550 lux @ .5 m would be about 410 lumens, which doesn't sound outlandish, according to this calculator I found: https://lamphq.com/lux-lumens-conversion/ Take this number with a grain of salt, though, since I made up the beam angle.

No, I would not use it as a substitute of a flash. It can be used but the lighting result may not be good depending on the subject's distance.

Its use as a flashlight will depend on the surface area that needs to be covered. Because it is mostly diffused over a wider area rather than focused as a beam, its coverage is further but dimmer. Your results may differ during actual use.

The Lume Cube Panel Mini, offers a USB-C power input, but does not output power. As such, it would not be able to power another device.
