Good replacement for a previous broken or worn unit. There is no difference between this and the base that comes as part of the standard Warthog. While the name isn't misleading per se it should be noted that the Magnetic in the name refers to the hall effect method used to sense the joystick position not any attempt to keep the base in place using magnets. This seems pretty self evident in that I not seen too many metal desks one would be 'sticking' this joystick base to....
