Areca ARC-8050T3 Overview

Add an assortment of storage capabilities to your Mac or Windows-based computer with the ARC-8050T3U 6-Bay Thunderbolt 3 Desktop RAID Storage Array from Areca. Equipped with eight bays, you can install 2.5- and 3.5-inch hard-disk and solid-state storage drives, making this suitable for audio and video producers. With a handful of RAID level options, you can specify the way your data is handled. Thunderbolt 3 technology gives you up to 40Gb/s data transfer speeds as well as the ability to daisy-chain up to five additional Thunderbolt 3 devices for expansive utility.

The ARC uses a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core SAS ROC processor and 2GB DDR3-1866 MHz on-board cache to ensure stability when uploading and downloading data. You can connect a dedicated display to monitor the ARC via DisplayPort output, giving you in-depth data on your array. Dual 2700 rpm cooling fans keep your drives cool by exhausting heat out of the back of the array.

RAID Features
You can easily take advantage of several RAID features built directly into the ARC, including support for 0, 1, 1E, 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk, or JBOD RAID levels. Additionally, you gain disk scrubbing and array verified scheduling support as well as drive disk clone functionality.
USB Type-C Compatibility Mode
The ARC is designed to be used with Thunderbolt 3 equipped devices, but you can gain basic connectivity speeds when this is connected to a USB Type-C port or a Type-A port with an optional adapter.
SAS Expansion Port
Connect additional storage with optional ARC-4038 12G SAS Expander units with support for up to 512 drives with multiple devices including 8- and 12-bay tower units or 16- and 24-bay rackmount JBOD units.
Bootable Drive Support
You can add a bootable drive via Thunderbolt port via Apple-compatible machine to expand utility.
Advanced Configuration
Experience smooth data streaming provided by the optimized parameters that adjust controlled firmware behavior.
Hardware Encryption
Board-level hardware encryption manages any kinds of drives attached to the ARC without impacting performance for higher levels of security.
Intelligent Power
The ARC unifies power with the host computer and maintains power stability to ensure proper data integrity.
Front Panel LCD
Easily access, configure, and read status reports with the front panel LCD screen.
Network Interface
The integrated gigabit ethernet port allows you to easily monitor your ARC when needed. You also obtain online array roaming, online RAID level, and stripe size migration.
Management Suite
Included with the ARC is an array of configuration and management tools granting you access to essential functions. McRAID manager is a browser-based management tool, ArcSAP gives you multilanguage support, and API libraries support combines GUI with user management utility. Remote monitoring is available with SNMP along with email notification support with SMTP.
