Sigma TC-2011 for Leica L Reviews

Works well

It works well with the Sigma 60-600mm sport lens paired with the Panasonic Lumix S5iix. As expected, the camera's sensor loses 2 stops of light while using the 2x teleconverter, and the autofocus isn't as strong, but still reliable and produces a clear image. Great for getting the extra needed reach of wildlife far away.

Serves Its Purpose Well

It really does a good job giving you the ability to get closer on shots. The image are clear, though not quite as sharp as without it, which is normal. I do recommend it, because it's better to zoom closer than to crop. I've uploaded a non-edited photo where I used with the Sigma 100-400mm at max zoom. So, it was 800mm with this adapter. The attached shot was taken at 1/1600 of sec, ISO 5000, f/13. NOTE: All teleconverters increase your f-stop by their multiplier. So, if you have a f/4 lens with this 2x converter, it would become an f/8 lens. This costs you considerable light, resulting in the need for higher ISO or slower shutter speed.

Has anyone out there tried this Sigma TC-2011 2x Teleconverter with the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens on a Leica SL2? Or the 1.4x TC with the same lens & camera config.?
Asked by: Douglas
According to Sigma, the TC-2011 2x and TC01411 are compatible with the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports lens, as well as the Leica SL2. The L-mount Alliance between both Leica and Sigma (as well as Panasonic) likely means that future releases from both manufacturers will likely be compliant either natively or via firmware updates.
