Incorrectly assumed this was a cast part. It's not. It's a plastic housing. Still does the job.

I've got a couple of generic articulated mic arms that came as kits with SM7B mics many years ago. they have a nub that sticks down and goes into a hole. Is this item suitable for desktop mounting for those?
Asked by: Tom
No. It seems like the nub that you are referencing on the SM7B would connect to a mic stand or broadcast arm. The Shure A400SM is made for compatibility with gooseneck models like the Shure MX418 for example.

Would this mount work for an earthworks fm500 ...

Would this mount work for an earthworks fm500 gooseneck mic?
Asked by: Nicholas
Yes, the Shure A400SM Recessed Shockmount for Gooseneck Mics should accommodate the size of the 3-Pin XLR male base connection on the Earthworks FM500 Flexible Podium Microphone. The A400SM does not provide any audio connections, however. A cable would need to connect to the FM500 base on the underside of the mount.

question

The Shure A400 recessed shock mount model does not show a female XLR connector where a Shure MX418 gooseneck mic could adapt to, I would not like to buy the wrong part to be mounted on a desk. Can someone help, please.?
