Yamaha A-S1200 Reviews
Blew up after 7 months
DO NOT think about buying this amp or any amp in this Yamaha line. They are prone to live in the repair shop!! The AS1200 sounded great for the first 7 months then it turned itself off and never came back. It’s not even fully paid for yet! In addition, Yamaha’s warranty service is very weak! My amp has been in the shop (the shop suggested by Yamaha) for over 5 weeks now. Though the warranty/customer service is friendly, and they do respond to emails, they literally do nothing for you other than say they’re sorry for any delays! Beyond apologizing and trying to blame the customer for the issue it’s worthless! I very much wish I had never purchased this amp. I really couldn’t afford $3000 for an amp but I thought at 65 years old I’d buy it for myself for a retirement present. I was very excited to have a higher quality amp than I was used to. However, this is obviously only an expensive amp not a high-quality one. My $700 Onkyo lasted for 25 years, the Yamaha AS1200 lasted for 7 months. I’m so disappointed and have been without music for 6 weeks now! Really, stay away from Yamaha! Even the repair man told me that they break all the time! What a total drag from a once great company!
