The MC-40 Multipurpose Clamp from Leofoto can be used to attach accessories to your tripod. You can clamp the clamp around a tripod leg with a diameter of up to 1.6". The 3/8"-16 and two 1/4"-20 threaded screw holes allow you to attach accessories with a magic arm, such as a tablet/smartphone holder, an external video monitor, or an LED light. The clamp can also be used the other way around, attaching the magic arm with the 3/8"-16 screw hole to the tripod and clamping an object with the MC-40. The MC-40 Multifunction Clamp is made of black anodized aircraft aluminum, making it very strong yet lightweight.

Leofoto Multipurpose Clamp Reviews
The MC-40 is a rock-solid clamp
I was considering less expensive options. I chose this because I’ve been happy with the build quality of other Leofoto products I own. This MC-40 clamp does not disappoint. I purchased this to attach either a phone or an iPad to a microphone stand. I also attached a speedlight to a background stand to use as a hairlight. The dial keeps out of the way, but is large enough to grip and tighten down. The rubberized grip feels solid, keeping the clamp in place as I adjust the magic arm. When tightening down the clamp, it feels like it gives solid feedback when it has a firm grip, and I don’t feel like I need to overtighten. The 1/4-20 thread is in a spot that makes it easy to attach magic arms and other accessories. My iPad setup includes an 11-inch iPad Pro, a 9-inch Leofoto AM-4 Magic Versa Arm, a Ulanzi U-Pad III iPad mount, and a ProMaster QR clamp – definitely a bit of weight. With all of these attached to a mic stand, the clamp keeps these items suspended as I use the iPad to learn new music on guitar. I recently left this setup up for a day, and it didn’t slide down or lose its place on my mic stand. It does seem expensive for a little clamp. Given its build quality and its lightweight aluminum material, though, it seems like another great tool to have available for quickly clamping lights and other accessories. I’m already excited about taking this to upcoming rehearsals and gigs and having easy access to my phone for adjusting my in-ear monitor mix. If I need another clamp like this, I won't hesitate to buy another one of these from Leofoto.
