After reading many reviews the Lume Cube Panel GO has performed as expected. It provides just the right amount of light in areas to small to use a flash.

Awesome!

Reviews for variants other than Lume Cube Panel Go & Ball Head Camera Mount with 3/8-16 Light Stand Adapter seem to be mixed in with this group of reviews. Mine (described above) arrived with a ball mount that allows me to slip it into my camera's hot shoe (but NOT connect with the camera electrically) and a removable diffuser/cover of material that resembles that of a silicone oven mitt. . . . and a defective USB charging cord that wouldn't fully seat into the USB-C socket on the unit. Once connected with a functional cord, the unit charged up and provides about an hour's worth of light at its brightest setting. The On/Off button toggles the function of the dial between brightness and color temperature. The charging process seems to be interrupted when it is turned on while still connected to a power source, so the 1 hour or so at max output should be considered if you have a long shoot planned. My only complaint so far is that the the tightening nut on the ball mount bunches up the diffuser cover when tightened. A 4 expenditure for an appropriate washer next trip to the hardware store should resolve that minor issue. All-in all, a handy little addition to my camera case.

Small but powerful

I wanted a small LED panel light with temperature control to illuminate my close up pictures for truer colors. This Lume Cube is the one I chose for these reasons and also because I can control the brightness intensity. The quality and reputation of Lume also was a factor.

I use the Lume Cube Panel Go & Ball Head Camera Mount with 3/8-16 Light Stand Adapter on an articulated gooseneck arm over my webcam on my computer monitor. The articulated arm is attached to the monitor stand. The light is bright and has good enough color for this use. I have not tried it with still photography or a video camera but it seems well designed and well enough built. The diffuser is flexible and seems to stay in place even though it fits between the light and the ball head top plate (screwing down the light is only slightly affected by this but it is not super tight without modifying the diffuser.) The ball head seems fine over the top of my computer webcam but I haven't tested it in a work or field application so I can't vouch for how sturdy it would be atop a camera or camcorder, i just haven't tried it that way. So far I'm very happy with the light and the way the adjustments work though all the information displays are on the back of the light and I use it front facing (so I can't see what the actual display says.) Good small light for a webcam application, no complaints so far.

Great footprint!

I took this to a shoot of a rehearsal of an upcoming play by a local theater company. The stage wasn't lit yet, so this added a kiss of light in the shadows without resorting to the old school flash (I have never liked the look of on camera flash photos!

Not functional for me

I was hoping to use these for fill lighting for interviews. They don't last long enough and aren't powerful enough for my kind of professional use. If you combine 3 of them they make a nice outdoor fill light for one person for about 35 minutes before the battery runs out. One broke on 2nd use just turning it on, so not liking much about them.

Does this kit enable you to mount the Lume Cube Panel on your camera hot shoe?
Asked by: Nina
The "Lume Cube Panel Go & Ball Head Camera Mount with 3/8"-16 Light Stand Adapter" configuration of this product includes a hot-shoe compatible mount - BUT it's only a physical attachment, NOT an electrical connection. But with steady light output from the Lume Cube, your camera should use the available light it produces to calculate a proper exposure.

Does this kit also attach to a camera hot shoe?
Asked by: Nina
One can attach the Lume Cube Panel directly onto a hot shoe, using a proper hot shoe adapter with a 1/4 20"screw (not for power -- just as a mounting option), but not with the entire telescoping stand, which would cause too much strain on the mount, in addition to being a balancing accident waiting to happen.

I use a standard USB wall quick charger with usbC and it works well. You can use with USB 3.0 as well attached to a computer. You can charge while using with both.

It will mount on anything with a standard 1/4"- 20 thread. A standard light stand would just need a thread adapter.

Using the panel while connected to a charger seems to interrupt the charging process, but with 1 hour + time at max. brightness after a full charge, I don't see this to be much of an issue.
